Multi Accounting Schema #1

Posted by: Bayu Cahya P on: August 5, 2008

As far as I know, Adempiere has awesome feature for multi accounting purposes. For my test purposes, we are configuring 2 schema which calls IDR and USD. The purpose for this setup is we are using 2 currency for every transaction, while others configuration (costing method, accrual based accounting etc are remains same). Our first accounting schema is in IDR currency and the second one is in USD currency.

This is my previous setup for multi accounting schema:

1. Create new accounting schema with USD currency
2. Register account schema element
3. Create GL/Default which taken records from first (IDR) accounting schema

After setup currency rate, we were creating some transaction to test this functionality. This was our accounting journal entries which generated from material receipt

Figure 2. Journal within USD

Checking with another journal generated with document like Invoice (Vendor), Matched Invoices seems working properly.

Finally, we made sales transaction for this materials with create Sales Order and create Shipment (Customer). The weird things happened while we trying post shipment document and give us error message “No cost for Memory” which shown in below figure

Figure 3. No cost for Memory error

Ops…. what happened with our transaction? Tried to create costing records for this material didn’t help.

I am going to explain what’s happen with our test in our next journal .
