Setup Movex Jobs Scheduling

Posted by: Bayu Cahya P on: September 4, 2008

Last night, I have attended some configuration session with Lawson Sweden guy. In this session, they gave some introduction about how to setup jobs scheduling within our Intentia Movex.

I though, this guidance was simple one. But, if we just tried to schedule by our self, an admin guide documentation for Movex Java Jobs Sched is not enough. I didn’t know, why this almost happen to all of configuration area. Without their or consultant direct supervision, this jobs could not be done :( .

Anyway, for some test purposes, I just created jobs schedule for

  1. RPS999. MRP Calculation
  2. CAS950. Internal Account Entry

Firstly, we had to setup job schedule category (SHS050). It means, we had to setup about in which period of time that our jobs would be executed.

SHS050

Secondly, we had to setup job schedule function. Type RPS999, and click button new, set job schedule allowed (we setup 2 for this one), entering program (filled it by RPS999) and job with RPS999S1. After complete this procedure, we will go to to SHS030/B1 screen again. Choose your records and goes to option 11 to setup program display for this such of program. Actually while we click new in SHS031/B screen, the default information for display file would be there. In our case, this field occupied with RPS999DSP. After we press enter, we will directed to screen SHS035/B screen. Nothing to do and just click exit or press F3.

Movex Explorer will give us to SHS031/B screen again. Choose your records and execute option 14 (create automatic). I guess, this will create display extension for our schedule jobs display.

SHS030

We are almost done. The last effort to be done is execute program RPS999 it self. After reaching panel F, they will supplied us with display extension (SHS230/E) for RPS999

SHS230

Choose your days of schedule and then press enter. While everything goes fine, you can check your list of schedule jobs within SHS010 screen.

Forgot to mention that for job within SHS030/E screen, you have to enter your job name correctly. For RPS999, job name was RPS999S1. In general, jobs name is always program name following with S1 or CL string.

If you want to made clear about what is program jobs name for some kind of programs, try to running those jobs manually and read it’s program execution confirmation. They will inform us about what kind of program jobs actually submitted.

For example, while we run CAS950 manually, this is our screen result confirmation (job CAS950CL) which informed us about which jobs was submitted within our Movex servers

Jobs

That’s all.
